The brainchild of Happy Fernandez, this one-of-a-kind museum took her ten years to curate. It includes works by famous international artists such as Salvador Dali, Pablo Picasso and Andy Warhol. While most museums rely on donations or artworks on loan, Mrs. Fernandez purchased every piece in the collection herself.
The tour begins on the second floor where you are greeted by a series of larger than life paintings with optical illusions. As you walk around, you begin to realize that not everything is as it seems. The first painting is a huge trom l’oeil mural that makes it appear as if you’re looking out the window of a train.
As you move from one painting to the next, your mind will be racing to try and make sense of what you’re seeing. Is that a woman or a man? A vase or two faces? A table or a pair of legs? It’s all part of the fun!
In addition to the paintings, there are also sculptures and installations throughout the museum. One room is dedicated to an interactive exhibit where you can use light projectors to create your own art on the walls.
